Study On The Landscape Design Of Luoyang Urban Historic District

The rapid development of urbanization has prompted expansion of the urban space, resulted in convergence of the urban cities, lost urban culture and created other series of issues, while the city’s historical and cultural landscape and unique style neighborhoods also suffered serious damage. City historic district which shows a long history of culture is an important carrier and is an important means to enhance the city’s competitiveness. Luoyang as China’s first batch of historical and cultural city, the historic district witnessed the development and changes of the city, demonstrating the unique historical and cultural features of Luoyang.In this paper, the relationship between urban development and cultural historic district as a starting point, indicating that the historic district in shaping the urban streetscape has important cultural significance, and described the culture of the historic district streetscape important for the future development of the value of the city. Firstly, Historic District streetscape development at home and abroad were analyzed by analysis of domestic Historic District streetscape typical case, to understand the ways and means of abroad Historic District streetscape plan designed to provide a theoretical basis for the planning and design of the historic district of Luoyang streetscape. Secondly, through a variety of historical documents about Luoyang, and combining on-site research and a questionnaire survey of urban residents, from the historic district of the social environment, the built environment, cultural environment, political and economic aspects as a starting point to analyze the historic district of layout, scale, building landscape elements of color, plants and so on. Then found insufficient historic District streetscape exist, provide the basis for updating the historic district streetscape design. Finally, this paper considering the geographical and cultural characteristics of Luoyang, proposed the design objectives and principles to update the historic district streetscape and different design methods for the different landscape elements. I hope through a series of protective planning and design, we can improve the environment of historic district streetscape and the quality of urban residents’ life, maintain continuation of the historical environment as well as civilization of the city.
