The paper puts forward a novel ifltelligellt instrieni smictUIe ---- DSP+FPGAstructure. Based on this strUctuxe, a portable Digital Storage Oscilloscope(DSO) isdesigned. At present, domestic DSO product's type is very few And pedicularly, thereis no domestic portable DSO which adopts DSP technology. How to develop the DSOwith powerful signal processing ability, which have our own independent property right,is the purpose of this paper.On the basis of long time work in the design of virtual instrument and the analysisof overseas outstanding instrument companies product's fimdamental principle, a newintelligent instrument structure----DSP+FPGA structure is put forward. And amultifunctional DSO is designed using this structure. The DSP+FPGA structure'smost impoftant feature is its flexible structure and general usage. It enables designers todevelop product within shorter time, and the system can be expanded easily In ourdesign, we put all the control circuit in a single FPGA chip. At the same time, we useDSP as the bottom processing unit to accomplish all the logic control and dataprocessing. The design is compact in structure and simple in operation.The DSO developed in this paper can work without the support of PC. Itsynthesizes the functions of signal collecting. data storing. signal analyzing. signaldisplaying and man-machine conversation. The designed DSO is easy to store andmeasure single or low-repeat rate signal and analyze it more effectively It is easy toobtain information before or after trigger. It can measure signal automatically viasoftware with high measuring precision, not affected by man-made factors. It canprovide fiexible trigger and displaying modes to enhance the caPability of signalcatching and measuring.The paper's final aim is to design a DSO with powerful signal processing ability,which can compete with other foreign products in market.
