With the development of socialization production, the global market period is coming, and the product competition leVel is increasing. So modem manufacturing enterprise must solve the difficult problem of TQCS for adapting market require and winning the competition. The only way for modem industry development is to apply the information technology to traditional manufacturing. Technologist and academia are paying more attention to virtual manufacturing, which is deemed a new manufacturing strategy and method for 21St century. This article describes some research result of mold&die virtual mat~ufacturing. An agile, effective and advanced architecture for mold&die virtual manufacturing is expected, and some concretely research about NC equipment resource has been done. The architecture concentrate on the main point of manufacturing system. After analyzing the feature of virtual manufacturing, this article constructed an architecture based on Intranet/Internet for mold&die virtual manufacturing system. This architecture has many characters like distributing, concurrent, opening, integrating and human-machine harmonious. This model can direct the construction of mold&die virtual manufacturing system. The equipment is an important part of manufacturing system. Virtual equipment is the map of real equipment in virtual manufacturing environment. The application of feature concept to equipment can help constructing the course feature model, which facing mold&die virtual manufacturing lifecycle. And this model can provide integrity and uniform manufacturing resource information. This equipment model comprise data layer, agreement layer, application layer, and user layer. Object-oriented method is used to classify and describe the manufacture feature The virtual equipment feature database based on B/S can be established with the help of mold&die architecture, course feature model and the description of machine feature. The server side of this feature database is SQL II ? Abstract Server 7.0 and the client side using ASP technology. This feature database is composed of login module, application service module, information browse module, data management module, system option module and auxiliary function module.
