| Today, the scale of container transport has been the main index of shipping hub, and the container throughput has also been that of the criteria for the status of a container terminal. Comparing with the port cities around, Dalian City has great shortages in container transport and is facing intensive competition and challenge. The City of Dalian has a long way to become the container hub in the north of China. In this paper, we begin with the analysis of the status of Dalian City around the Bohai Coast Region. After the analysis of the current situation and competitive surroundings of Dalian container transport system, the forecast of the trend of the container transport demand has been made. Then the strategy of the development of the container transport system of Dalian City and some advice has been put forward.
