This paper researches the following questions: (1) Testing rheology behavious of a kind of sample of the nuv cement slurry, which is solid-liquid suspension non-ncwtonian fluid. (2)Getting the relation between the water content and the rheology behavious, and to obtain the singnificant formula in designing the revolving detector. (3) Researching and building the mathematical modle of detecting the water content of the raw cement slurry, that is to say, building the relation of the water content of the slurry and the pulse number of speed ofrevolution of the detector and voltage of power source, which provide the foundation to.design the detector. (4) The introduction stage in this paper is between the laboratory researchand practice application of intelligent device. This papcr introduces the total projcct.of testing the water content in the slurry of the intelligent experimental device.The raw cement slurry is a kind of two-phase solid-liquid suspension. From the relation of shear stress and shear velocity, it's belong to noi?ncwtonian fluid. The major factor effect the rheology behavious is the water content of the slurry or the density of solid phase. This theme discuss the water of the slurry detected by the revolving detector. It utilizes the different resistance morque by the different charactoristic of defferent water comtent, makes the change of velocity of the detector. So by this method, we can test the water content of the raw cement slurry through testing the velocity of the detector, It is certainly that it can test other slurry, such as paper slurry, mud slurry, mine slurry ctc.The fluid mechanics charactoristic of the slurry is complex, therefore it is difficult to establish the two-dimension or three-dimension mathematical modle to decide the relationship between the water content and the revolving speed of the detector. So the research for rotational detector in this topic is through the method of proper regressive analysis of experimental datas to establish therelation among the water content, the palse and the voltage. To complisn the intelligent test of the water content of the slurry, it is necessary to have a set of intelligent system which contains two aspect of hardware and software. The hardware confirm the major project and function of the experiment, but the intelligent test function be complishcd by the softwarem. The design of software adopt the method of structural programmer. It contains the following parts: water parameter module, floating-point module, data processing module, other module and subprogram. Each module has its specific function.
