This thesis set forth the method and process of designing to kiln tyre using robust method. When constructing the math model,it was thought of that there were structure parameters ,such as the tyre' media and width, and a series of uncontrolled factors ( contact stress, bend stress stiffness and temperature stress, and the aim is to optimize the weight of the tyre). Taking the contact stress, bend stress stiffness and temperature stress as the condition, taking the weight of the kiln tyre as optimization aim function, the redia and the width of the tyre are optimized General optimize methods just consider the affecting of the parameters to aim function, but in fact, structural parameters(such as structure dimension, interval and so on),physics and dynamics (damp factor, conduct factor, friction factor material's elastic module strength limits and so on) ,which would be changed after used. The difference are called discrepancy robust design's basic concept is :all design parameters' discrepancy will affect the aim function and arouse the quality target discrepancy. At the same time, the stat rule of discrepancy will affect the property of the aim's stat rule properties, the aim of robust design is that when there are discrepancy in design parameters and noise parameters the design is robust. In the other word, design properties are not sensitive to every parameters changes. It can be said the design is robust and is acceptive . From the view, the key of robust design can be refered as a optimization problem, which demanding the design is robust substatuded torestrictions. After set forth the general concept of robust, the thesis give a example ,comparing and analysising the general optimization methods and robust design through a example.
