With the ongoing reconstruction of the electronic-power net (both urban net and rural net), the requirement of auto-managing system of electronic power is increasing. The existing systems have low aulomalization or have not good performance of anti-disturbing, so it is urging to improve the performance of the system.The object of this thesis is a low-voltage power line carrier automatic meter reading system, and the power line carrier meter reading is used to attain the automatization. We use the spread spectrum carrier method to improve the ability of anti-disturbing and reliability of the transmission of the data, the theory of the spread spectrum communication and its realization in the power line carrier is discussed in detail. The discipline and realization of the intelligent electronic meter is given in this thesis also. For the managing software of the system, there are some discussions about it.The system that we designed was proved to be having a good anti-disturbing ability, and the signal can be transmitted as far as we expected, so it meets the demand of automatic meter reading system.
