AMRS(Automatic Meter Reading System) on low voltage network is a leading research at present in the field of power consumption management and power sale. Manual Meter Reading System adopted now has become the bottleneck which has seriously restrained the realization of automatic control in electricity marketing. The development of new electricity meter with remote data communication functionally shows a promising application prospect.Firstly, this thesis summarizes the spectrum carrier meter reading system used on domestic power lines now, and points out the problems existing in automatic meter reading system adopted both in home and abroad. According to the characteristics of low voltage power network in the area of Lanzhou and the demands of electric energy management, the technology of spread spectrum carrier is employed to implement the solid meter circuit with spread spectrum carrier communication function on low voltage power line. As the key chips, AD' sAD7751, Intellon' s SSCP300 and Atmel' s AT89C51 are chosen to design the circuit. This thesis discusses solid meter circuits, the connection between SSCP300 and AT89C51, and the solid meter' s function on receiving and sending orders. The results tested on the spot demonstrate that the electricity meter can gather the energy data precisely and transfer data remotely. That means that the meter designed in this thesis is suitable for the needs of AMRS.
