Modern Mountain Cities' Human Settlements Comparison Of Chongqing With Hong Kong

In our country, mountain cities are about two-third of the whole cities. They centralize in the mid-west area, in which the urbanization stays at a primary assembly stage. In the 21st century, our country will go into the intermediate accelerating development stage, and it has greeted the magnificent country project, "Western Development". The extensive mountain cities will meet a lot of problems and difficulties in the rapid urbanization progress. How to create the modern mountain cities' human settlements with Chinese characters is relates to the economic development of our country. Moreover, it is an important task of the urban plan and construction in our country. Through comparing the main land typical mountain city-Chongqing with typical modern mountain city-Hong Kong, this paper has some probes and researches on the modem mountain cities' human settlements with relative theories and researching methods of Sociology, History, Ecology, Economics, Geography and Archaeology. So this paper has some realistic meaning and theoretical value to the extensive mountain cities of our country.There are eight chapters in this paper. The background of this paper is the development of mountain cities, and the urbanization is the clue. Through different range, it analyzed and expounded the modern mountain cities' human settlements from wide scope to little. This paper probed into the development characteristic, the growth way and the shape growth rule of mountain cities.
