In the engineering design of SVC, there are three key factors, analyzing the main power quality problems, bringing forward reasonable scheme and simulating. This dissertation conducts an in-depth study on the three factors, aiming to insure the veracity and security of the SVC scheme. In order to fulfill this task, the author makes in-depth researches on the domestic and foreign power quality standards and extracts the experiences and lessons in the engineering design of SVC, achieves many creative contributions listed bellow:1. This dissertation discusses at first the concept of the power quality and analyses the main parameters of the power quality. In order to analyse reasonedly the reason of the failure in the power system, we have to master existent reasons, calculating methods and controlling techniques about the many kinds of power quality problems.2. Based on the study upon the principia and engineering design ofSVC , this dissertation sums up the process of SVC design,helping to construct the simulated models, bring forward thereasonable schemes and calculate the precision parameters.3. The traditional manual calculation is replaced by the simulationmodels which are disigned in this task. The models can be used tosmulate the operation status and calculate the parameters of SVC helping to improve the work efficiency.4. Simulation which is based on MATLAB is the product of Mathworks company, which is one of the par excellence simlation integration environment in the field of dynamic simulation. The simulation software includes many models. Through the study on simulation the correctness and feasibility of the models with the successful examples of the SVC, the results are accordant with the practice.5. This dissertation has given an example to introduces ulteriorly the design process of SVC, the preferences methods and the application of the softare models.This dissertation solves the key technical difficulties in the design process of SVC. The simulation models have been applicated successfully in many projects, which avail to design a integrated simulation softare.
