Based on Finite Element Method(FEM), further study on Permanent Magnet Linear Synchronous Motor(PMLSM) is presented in this thesisTo improve the servo performance of the PMLSM, some measures for optimizing the air-gap magnet fields and a new method applying multiphase winding for eliminating the harmonics of the thrust are presented. The thrust ripple is analyzed by using analytical formulas of the thrust. These steps are very significant and being high reference value in improving the servo character of the PMLSM.On the aspect of the dynamic character, the electrocircuit model of the motor is being realized on the PSPICE environment. The transient character of the PMLSM under the sinusoidal power is reached using the PSPICE model at circuit level, the results are compared with those using time-stepping FEM. More attention is paid to the starting response of the motor, considering the effects of the different start positions, the parameters of the motor and the frequency changes of the source. Constant acceleration start way is suggested by controlling the current phases. The dynamic process under certain disturbances as well as the start process driven by SPWM are also simulated.
