Product innovation means that the more interdisciplinary knowledge structure, the more complicated technical support and the more perfect innovative theory are required. Technology of computer-aided innovation can synthesize the multi-domain knowledge organically and provide the creative design project. It has become the important method by which enterprise can increase the product developing competence and economic benefit.This project mainly studies the determination of principle solution by effect in conceptual design and its software development. The study result is applied to the improved design of speedy cutting off valve in TRT (Top Gas Pressure Recovery Turbine), and the solution to the problems existing in the speedy cutting off valve is put forward. The main researches and contributions are the following:1. Study on effect based on TRIZ (Theory of Inventive Problem Solving) and set up the FEE (Function-Effect-Example) model for conceptual design processEffects are emerged from the analysis of hundreds of thousands patents by finding relevance between a technical function delivered by a design product described in a patent and an effect used as a principle for the product. The effects chains model fulfilling functions is set up by the studies of relations between effect and function. By the mapping relations between function, effect and example, transitions are fulfilled between the required function, the principle realizing the function and structure realizing the principle, and the FEE model for the conceptual design is set up. The FEE model synthesizes the analogy-based design (ABD), case-based-reasoning (CBR), and the effect theory, and the principle solution to required function can be determined easily and rapidly by it.2. Set up effect knowledge baseA large vast of database must be developed in order to apply the FEE model to conceptual design phase. It is required to analyze and study the patents and determine the function, effect, structure, input parameter, output parameter and control parameter in patent. The effects and examples are categorized by function and the effects database with delaminated structure based on FEE model is set up. The effect database cannot only realize the rapid search but alsoimprove the function, and it is the effective way to solve problem by using effect.3. Improve the drive system of speedy cutting off valve in TRTAfter investigating the operation of the TRT system of the blast furnace and analyzing the structure of the speedy cutting off valve, the problems of the speedy cutting off valve are described from the viewpoint of system function. The new principle solution which contents the required function is determined by the mapping relation between function and effect in FEE model, then the function structure is improved by trimming. The solution to the problems existing in the speedy cutting off valve is put forward. Every movement of the speedy cutting off valve can be implemented with simpler operation and increased system performance.4. Develop the dedicated softwareThe effect mould in InventionTool is developed by using the second generation object-oriented method-Fusion method and software engineering. It is based on the theory of effect, effects chains and FEE model. There are a large number of effects and examples in effect knowledge base. According to the required function the software can offer the effects and examples, by which the problem can be solved rapidly and correctly. Thus the cycle of product development is shortened, and the expense of product development is reduced.
