There are two ways of increasing the speed of trains. One way is that the rail lines for high speed are built and the high speed trains are applied .The other way is that the existing railways are improved and the tilting trains are used.Besause the tilting train can ensure the ride quality of passengers, improve the speed of curving and reduce the time on trip meanwhile and do not need too much cost the second way is accord with the situation of our country and railway. Now the tilting eletric multipul-unit has been decided to be studied and designed in our country. The main work of the paper is to study the dynamics of the trailer of tilting eletric multiple-unit.At first the principle of increasing the speed for tilting train is dealt with.The development, research and achievement abroad are introduced. Then the dynamics calculating model is built from the structure of the trailer bogie. The mathematical equations are deduced and the principle of dynamics calculation is explained. The simulation model of trailer is set up by using the multiple bodies simulation program SIMPACK.On the basis of original parameters the suspension parameters of trailer has been optimized by using the simulation model.Two groups of optimum parameters are picked up which will ensure the better comprehensive performance of trailer including lateral stability, ride index and negotiation.After that the dynamics of trailer is analysed. The influence of the two groups of parameters to the dynamics are compared and the suspension parameters are selected at last. The results of simulation show that every dynamics performance of trailer meet the need of what references and design required to the new train.The ride index of trailer is compared when running on the railway whose grade is higher and on the railway whose grade is low. It shows that the ride index of trailer can meet the need of design when running on the railway whose grade is high and the ride index is worse and the numerical value exceedwhat reference required to new train when running on the railway whose grade is lower.At last the dynamics of trailer is analysed when trouble is take place including the lateral stability when the anti yaw dampers become ineffective, the ride index when airsprings have no air and the negotiation when the trailer runs on the curve the tilting actuator doesn't work or work in the contrary direction.
