| Since the nineties, the competition in global market has been more and more cruel. How to develop a high quality but low cost product in the least time has been the foundation for the existence and development of enterprise. This paper makes a thorough study on the issues of product development process modeling in environments that is based on this problem. A modeling method DMPA (Product Development Process Modeling based on the Process or Action) and a software modeling platform which supports DMPA are developed to shorten the research and development cycle, to increase the productivity and to improve the competitive ability of enterprise.The paper sets out to discuss the characteristics and the trends of advance manufacturing technologies and product development process, summarizes the advantages and defects of the relative modeling methods. On the basis of this, the paper carries out a basic theory of product development modeling. Based on seriously analyzing of the action and process concept, the modeling of product development is presented which uses the center is the process and action's modeling, to building relation between the process model and the real process, to mapping process model to the actions, process and relations of the product development. On the basis of modeling of product development mentioned above, explains a modeling method DMPA on the basis of product development Process or Action. This paper makes use of how to build the object model for the system utilizing Object-Oriented tecnique in the system implement and the process of the mapping from object model to the relational database model in order to build database. In the end, using the product development process of aerofoil rib a software platform which supporting DMPA modeling is developed with software Visual C++6.0 and Access 2000.
