| The fast development of the electric power industry makes the scale of power network larger and larger, and its network more complex. The result of this is that the power network becomes a complex multiloop network, in addition to the variety of operation and the interleaving of voltage grades. Such these situations bring forward much difficulty to the calculation and management by traditional manual operation of relay protective settings. Especially, the relay protective settings of transmission line are greatly affected by network parameters and framework changing resulted from operational mode of system and the examining and repairing of equipment. So it makes the calculation of relay protective settings more complicated and the more repeated computation work and lasts more time, while the best plan can't always be achieved. My article integrated the characteristic of the present relay protective settings calculation on the basis of comprehensive analysis with the present technology and management system, introducing the adaptive concept. Its purpose is that the relay protective settings of all the components or lines in the network can uphold protective integrality following the change no matter however the network changes. After programming an integrated relay protective settings calculation and management system for power plant, the validity and practicability of adaptive relay protective settings theory is proved.In order to clearly describe action of adaptive technology in relay protective settings calculation and management, we set up an integrated management system. Firstly, the article defines structure and the data model of this system. In system structure, the model of nodes, which afford operational object, are established. The data mode of system defines distributing of every data with object in the system in order to provide essential data support of realizing system. A complex information system and its data structure entirely and clearly are described with these two models.Based on system model, the article ulteriorly discusses a few issues of requiring the adaptive theory in relay protective settings calculation and management, such asadaptive relay protective settings calculation and management, complex fault calculation and coordination of directional protective relays in multiloop networks. The adaptive protective relays categorically sets up the math model and realized theory of adaptive relay protective settings calculation. The calculation of complex faults solves the computation of all kinds of faults involved in power network. The coordination of directional protective relays in multiloop networks solves the calculation of break points set and the coordination of main protection with backup protection. Through these three problems accomplished, we can realize the adaptive relay values calculation on the basis of nodes.According to the systemic framework and oriented object established by us, combined with the problems solved for realizing adaptive relay calculation, we make use of flow chart to describe the achievement of program and every function model.
