With the develop of electric power and electron technology, micro-electronics and control theory, servo-control system has made a rapid progress in enginering application. The main traits of this are the distinguished efficiency of drive capability and eminent control characteristic.In this paper, a high performance digital servo-system based on an embedded PC is studied. With the embedded PC controlling, the control level of the automatic cutter is developed highly. With the digital servo-system, the exact control is developed in the exact length and connect of the automatic cutter. In order to connect to peripheral equipment, a periphery interface card and an ISA bus card is designed. Finally, a kind of intelligent PID is given and put into use in the servo-system. Experiment results show that some shortcomings of routine PID can be well conquered and good performance can be achieved.
