Distribution system connect the consumer directly, and its supply reliability can make a great influence on consumer. Some research work about reliability model, evaluation algorithm, measure of indices improvement is presented in this paper.Firstly, the basic concept and indices of the distribution system reliability is given. Through building the element reliability model, the system reliability indices can be worked out by analytical or MonteCarlo method. The indices formula is also included in this paper.Secondly, it is about a new reliability model which concerns with the bus and beaker's failure. Through the simulated calculation of both models, a conclusion can be drown that the bus and breaker's failure can lower the system reliability. If the bus and breaker's failure rate isn't included in account, the reliability indices will be better, and the result will be more optimistic. At the same time, the connection styles' affection on system reliability is analyzed.Thirdly, a novel evaluation method based on DFS is studied. The minimal load is searched out by DFS algorithm. According to the system configuration, the unminimal load elements are involved in indices account. An example proves the algorithm is effective.Fourthly , through analyzing the factor which affects the system reliability , some approach is presented to improve the distribution system reliability, which is classified into technology measure and management measure.
