Research On The Implementation Of IEC61850 Communication Networks And System In Substation

The IEC 61850 Communication networks and system in substations designed by IEC TC 57 is a new international standard on substation automation. In this dissertation Firstly the background, the characteristics and the effects of IEC61850 including the necessity of standardized construction are introduced. Secondly the content, the analysis and the comprehension of IEC 61850 are described. After that the modeling approach and the data models of IEDs are discussed. Moreover the XML based SCL and the configuration tools are detailed in the article. In addition the prospect of implementing the IEC 61850 is drawn at last.
