Optimization design is an uptodate measure to seek the most perfect and optimum design proposal ,and the mathematical principle of optimization had application in engineering design.It incorporate the speciality design theory,the optimization methods of mathematics and the computer art,accommodate a scientific design approach and a significant layout strategy for design engineering,and it can heihten design efficiency and advance designing quality.Enginneering science must envisage economic construction,so it is beyond all doubt that the optimization design as the final approach of engineering development..Because of overinvestment and long construction period in tall building,design staff make great efforts to give an optimization design in order to achieve the best structural layout and practise economy all the time.But on account of hugeness of design variable,constraint condition and computational complexity,the achievement of structural optimization for high rise building in engineering had droped behind the progress of theory out and away in recent years.Optimum aseismic design of high-rise building for whole system and whole life optimization has to be considered,,including five aspects: a) optimization of structure function; b) optimization of structure selection; c) optimization of structure system; d) optimization of structure dimensions;e)optimum design of aseismic structures base on optimal fortification intensity.This paper uses for reference with an example of frame-shear wall structure and studies the conceptual design and method for optimizationof structural system.Through establishing frame-shear wall structure unisonous differential eguation and finding a result,the side shifting curve,moment and shear force distribution curve are obtained under inverted triangle load action onthe frame-shear wall structure.After analyzing and comparing,the range of best rigid characteristics for such structure has be gotten.It is state how to define the method of reasonable quantities for shear wall.The expression of defining shear wall quantities is established based on the structure side shifting limitation.Integrated with aseismic analysis,this paper states the optimization of frame structure and minimum-cost design.Tt introduces the idea and method for optimum design of aseismic structures base on optimal fortification intensity as well as how to make decision of optimal fortification intensity for aseismic structures.The sequence for optimization method is state in this paper with a example of frame calculation.
