In order to adapt for Sun Land 's rebuilding, and improve the ability of power supply in the Ice and Snow World and Song Bei town, suburb power supply bureau decided to build a new 66kV rural substation without watch-keeper in Song Bei town. Designing is very important in order to accomplish the work with adequate quality and high standard. The paper researches the new rural substation 's scheme combining author's experience with practical situation.The substation without watch-keeper means that no person keep watch and operate on duty in the substation, all works were done by the remote control center. In order to realize the object, designing electrical system and selecting equipment should be done well firstly. It will be beneficial to remote control that main wiring is brief and handling facility, electrical equipment is healthful and stable. Furthermore, it is very important that improve the autoimmunization of substation without watch-keeper. In the design of substation, we predigest main wiring with a minitype base and adopt simple wire-connection: dule T type is used in 66kV side, segmented single bus-bar with hospital bus-bar is used in l0kV for major load. Vacuum breaker with adequate quality and long maintenance intervals are selected.Further more, integrative automation of substation is the key factor in substation without watch-keeper. In the secondary design, We adopt layered and distributed configuration, install relay equipment with microcomputer, DF1700 intelligent remote control equipment and other automatic equipment, and realize integrative automation of substation. Using this technology will support data collection and monitor on the spot for the substation without watch-keeper, and realize effectual management.At last, cost-effectiveness analysis validates that the substation is smaller space, lower interest and management cost, shorter building time than others. The plan of substation has been constructed. We believe that the research and application will accumulate experience in promoting substation without watch-keeper .
