As a type of architecture form deeply rooted in a country's law system, courthouse is certainly subjected to the rigorous restriction of judicature procedure, especially displaied to the space layout and order feature in court area. At the same time, the common visualization of courthouse is the necessary result to pursing the "impartial, fairly and open" judicature spirit untiringly. In the light of this, the thesis tries to start off through how judicature procedure determine internal of courthouse and probes a best way to realize deeply logic demand and has the architecture explaining of law procedure and social significance in mind, accordingly provides proper theoretic foundation for courthouse building design in china.In this thesis, some research has been done on the courthouse as a special architectural form based on practical attitude and systematic method. The preface chapter advances orgins of thesis, purpose and object of study. The second chapter studies the history evolution of china and foreign' s courthouse and put forward the internal cause and outside influence about the development of court building. Under the basis of a large number of surveys about examples, the third chapter deeply summarizes the existing universal problems in our courthouses at present. From the point of view of whole, the fourth chapter deeply probes into the master plan, outer space and environment, function component, modes of plan arrangement, organization of circulation, character expression and court design of courthouse, and put forwords the concept of court cell, moreover, predicts objectively the future development tendency. The last chapter gives the correlative conclusions of the study.
