| In the paper, the experimental study on the seismic behavior of T shaped short pier shear walls has been presented. Seismic behavior of T-shaped short pier shear walls with different wall pier width-depth ratio has been compared between two conditions, with concealed bracings and without. Based on experimental study, theoretical analysis and seismic design methods on T shaped short pier have been given. The main contents are listed as follow: 1. The experimental research on the seismic behavior of 6 models of T-shaped short pier shear wall with 1/2 scale is presented. Based on the cyclic loading experiments, the following seismic behavior characters of the specimen have been analyzed: bearing capacity, stiffness, ductility, hysteresis capacity, energy dissipation and failure phenomena. Compared with normal T-shaped short pier shear walls, the seismic behavior of T-shaped short pier shear walls with concealed bracings have been greatly improved. 2. Based on the experimental research, the mechanism how shear wall piers work together with concealed bracing is studied., which sets the base for the establishment of the mechanical model . The simplified mechanical model and the calculative formulas of the stiffness and the bearing capacity have been established. The model of restoring force has been established. The calculating results accord well with the experimental results. 3. The model of dynamic analysis for the structure is established and the model of restoring force is proposed. 4. With the analysis of DRAIN ?2D+, the nonlinear time history seismic response analysis have been provided and compared between T-shaped short pier shear walls with bottom concealed bracings and normal ones. It has been proved that for the T shaped short pier shear walls with concealed bracings, displacement of each floor of have been obviously reduced, compared with the normal ones. With setting of the concealed bracings distribution of displacement is more uniform in the shear wall, which is advantageous for earthquake resistance. 5. Based on experimental and theoretical analysis, seismic design suggestion for T -shaped short pier shear walls with bottom concealed bracings and T shaped short pier shear walls is presented, which may provide references for seismic design. |
