Heat power engineering system is a complicated system of power, so it is hard to get the models. How to get the model is discussed in the article. The main steam temperature system examinations results of the WeiFang Power Plant show that it is efficient. PID is a most primary control strategy in heat power engineering system, and it directly influences safe and economical of units. Genetic algorithms (GA) perform efficient and heuristic search, not blindfold and completely stochastic searching, thus, this thesis uses GA to optimize PID adjustor's parameters. In this paper, the optimized result of the controller parameters for the main steam temperature system is provided. The result shows that using genetic algorithm (GA) to optimize the parameters of controller can gain satisfying effect, which successfully solved the problem that system cannot be switched to automation mode for some reason in ShanDong WeiFang Power Plant.
