Component-Based ECDIS

AbstractThe thesis selects component-method from software engineering to design and realize the component ECDIS which bases on International standards (S-57, S-52). The basic platform of ECDIS can pack into Second Developed Kit (SDK) that composes of several independent components. If SDK develops in network environment, component WebChart comes into being.On data model, this thesis adopts the metadata theory and S-57 theoretical data model to design a three-layers data access model as "ExchangeSet-Dataset-Object".SDK uses Presentation Library of S-52 to display chart. WebChart uses ActiveX to implement the network display of chart.SDK system and its six basic components realize with COM.This dissertation is about the research I have engaged in.Chapter 1 introduces fundamental conceptions of ECDIS, compares component ECDIS with traditional ECDIS.Chapter 2 introduces component technology and analysis method.Chapter 3 designs data processing model of SDK and WebChart.Chapter 4 introduces the design of display control.Chapter 5 designs and realizes the system, using UML and component technology.Chapter 6 makes a summary of the thesis.
