The Design And Implementation Of ECS Compliant With International Standards

The thesis mainly discusses the design and implementation of Electronic Chart Basic Plat which is the essential part of ECDIS. The Plat, basis on the International standards of Electronic Chart such as S-57 , S-52 and Performance standards, includes many fields like computer application, database, management, etc. The core of the Plat is separating the data from its display.On data access, Plat adopts advanced display model of electronic chart as "Database-Dataset-Object": Using Database to maintain, organize and manage chart units; Using Dataset to organize and operate elements of single map; Using S-57 catalog to express the real Object .On chart displaying, Plat basis the contents of Presentation Library of S-52, get the S-52 display by implementing the "Chart display generator".This dissertation is about the research I have engaged in.Chapter 1 introduces some fundamental conception, development of ECDIS and the meaning of researching, gives a synoptic scheme of the Plat.Chapter 2 discusses the organization and management architecture of chart data , give the detailed data structure and algorithm to operate.Chapter 3 discusses the Presentation Library of S-52 and displaying of chart on basis of it.Chapter 4 introduces the Plat, discusses the relationship between performance and data structure and data display.Chapter 5 makes a summary of the thesis.
