Object-Orient Modeling And Module Study Of Ship-building Detailed Design PDM System

PDM system is a kind of framework software between the systematic supporting software and the application software, on the basis of the framework, we can set up a supporting platform for the product development.In this paper, research work on PDM modeling and realization of separate modules is detailed according to the ship production design PDM requirements of a ship-building enterprise. The author focuses on the key issues as follows:1. PDM System ModelingCollect the system requirements from users and mapping them to demands that developers can understand. Vividly show the modeling information by standard diagram elements and abstraction mechanism of UML(unified modeling language) and finish the system modeling. In this way, user, developer and analyzer may communicate and grasp the whole system.2. Rights Allocation of PDM SystemDifferent hierarchy rights allocation is realized by different hierarchy users which are added by manager. According to the nickname and the password that the user offers, system may find the information stored in the database. By the department and the post of the user, different menus are activated.3. Drawing Management of PDM systemPath of drawing files in the database can be connected with the foreground application by Active Data Objects (ADO). By object Linking and Embedding (OLE) techniques in Visual Basic (VB),pointer of the path may linked to the drawing file.4. Progress Rate Management of PDM systemProgress rate lines can be drawn by Visual Basic controls according to data in the database.The solution put forward in this paper can satisfy system requirement appropriately. The PDM system integrates several different Computer-Aided-Design (CAD) software. It's also a valuable try for PDM system based on Client/Sever (C/S) mode.
