PrefaceThe annually increasing number of automobile has made people pursue the safety of automobile. People have paid more and more attention to the safety of automobile seat. The safety problem of automobile seat includes active safety and passive safety. The active safety of automobile seat refers to the capability of seat to provide the occupant with comfortable environments. The passive safety of automobile refers to the capability of seat to avoid or reduce injury of occupant in crush. To enhance the safety of automobile is important to reduce the injury of occupant when crush happens. Because of the special working environments of the mechanical suspended truck seat, its structure is more complex than common car seat and it's heavier than common seat too. So, studies on mechanical suspended truck seat have practical significance. Today, with the computer more and more sophisticated, analyzing problem with computer simulation is an economical and efficient means. FEM is based on computer and it can solve complex engineering problem efficiently. The contents of this paper are based on the project, the analysis of the static strength of mechanical suspended truck seat. It uses Altair.HyperMesh,ABAQUS/Standard,PAM-CRASH software to simulate the model of the mechanical suspended truck seat and analyze the static strength of seat assembly and seat back, the static characteristics and dynamic characteristics of its head restrain.Main ContentsIn chapter 1, the internal and external status of automobile seat passive safety research is investigated, research and development methods, up-to-date achievements and developing trends of auto seat system are discussed, and the applyings of FEM in studies on seat system are discussed. In chapter 2, the mechanical suspended truck seat system model is set up with Altair HyperMesh software based on the digested software. Introducing the general flow of model setting-up. It consists of FEM skeleton seat cushion, seatback, adjustment and head restrain base on the research of auto seat static characteristic. This model consists of 22011 shell elements, 289 beam elements and 1786 rigid elements. In chapter 3, the boundary conditions are defined under the criteria of FMVSS-207 and ECE R17. When the seat assembly static strength is simulated, the force is defined under the criteria of FMVSS-207 . The force is defined under the criteria of ECE R17 when the seat back static strength is simulated. In the result, it reveals that the seat's strength meet requirement but some points are deformed and the dangerous points are find.In chapter 4, several sets of improvement projects are brought forward to improve the dangerous point, and the best one is chose through FEM simulation. The parts whose stress is too small are redesigned to decrease the weight of the seat. With experiments, the rightness of redesigned model is validated. In chapter 5, the safety of head restrain is simulated. It includes head restrain post-displacement, static strength characteristic and dynamic characteristic. Through simulation, the safety of the head restrain of the seat can meet the requirement of ECE R17.In chapter 6, the contents and conclusions are summed up. Also some advice on the improvement of the later research is given. SignificanceTo master the general modeling flow by using FEM software Altair HyperMesh and ABAQUS/Standard, we can supply the experience and method for later generation.Redesigned the mechanical suspended truck seat and this has practical significance. The FEM simulation of the mechanical suspended truck seat has some value of reference when designing a seat of such a type.Carrying out the research of head restrain by utilizing Pam-Crash software, we inaugurate a new road to investigate the dynamic performance of head restrain.
