In recent years, the car as the bulk of consumer goods, the average family ownership isincreasing, according to statistics, in2013the country’s total car sales are over20million.However, with the substantial growth in car sales, more traffic accidents and accidentcasualties has increased dramatically. In the structure of an automobile, the seat is the maincomponent in contact between the occupant and the vehicle structure, it’s not only providingsupport for the human body but also protective human body, to reduce occupant injury, it’snecessary to improve the strength of the seat, so that the study of seat strength is a veryimportant research subject.This paper goes on with the customer’s requirements, to do the research on the frontseat and improvement the structure, including: research and improvement of backreststrength, research and improvement of safety belt anchorage strength. In this paper, the mainresearch methods is the finite element analysis, first of all, establishing the finite elementmodel based on3D data of the front seat, and simplifying the bolt and welding connection,the final of the model includes10563elements and12348nodes, including solid element,shell element and beam element; secondly, establishing the CAE model, according to the testcondition of the back strength test and safety belt anchorage strength test, in the seat backstrength test,loading with a rigid manikin back, and in the safety belt anchorage test, a lapblock and a shoulder block are needed, then running the analysis calculate with the software,the analysis of the results obtained were compared with the test results correction; finally,improve the structure according to the analysis result, and rerun the analysis until the newstructure pass through the analysis, making a test sample of physical experiment.The seat after improving passed the test that site in Tianjin and the host plant laboratory.The test load in back strength test reaches1600Nm, the safety belt anchorage strength testloading has reached the specified value (on shoulder block is13500N, on lap blockis16200N), and the deformation of the seat in the test is very close to the CAE results, thefinite element analysis proved feasibility in the seat of the strength.
