Complex Railway Station

The thesis studiews the development of architecture designs for the larger railway station ,and tallying up the features fog design in two period. Before the mid-1980s, limited by the conditions, the design for railway station is "waiting for" types. Since the mid-1980s, with the increase of economic and promotion of technology, the design for station is changed into integrated railway station.The paper put up a viewpoint that the integrated railway station will change into the Complex Station, with the analyse of the development of the city theory , and lessoned from the history of railway station in developed countries. The Complex Station is a type of traffic building for fast passenger transportation, which is combied with different kinds of vehicles. Passengers can complete the conversion among the vehicles in shortest time and distance.The paper show the features of the Complex Station by the example of Guangzhou east station Shanghai south station and Jiuzhou station : make the bus stop closer to the station under the overhead square; link the station with the urban orbit transportation by use of three-dimensional traffic; weaken the affection of the rairoad separating cities.The core thought of designs is humanizational thought, and the architecture space should have two characters: complex and co-ordiate. The article discuss it in four parts: the waiting room should have a tolerate feature; create the foot ways to link waiting room with outer commercial district;extend the function of the station terrace, change it into a rest place for the passengers; strengthen the designs of the transportation node.
