Study Of Jianyang Substation Remote Digital Video Monitoring System

Remote digital video monitoring system (RDVMS) is a promising and practical technology in real-time video monitoring field over highway, intelligent building and material production etc.Substation remote digital video monitoring system can play a important role in monitoring substation run-time status, and has been applied somewhere. This paper first compares the present analog video monitoring system to the digital system, clarifies some key technologies in this field. And, this paper introduces the general architecture, the design of the central controlling station subsystem and client system in detail. Finally, some practical experiences during system implementation is summarized as a result.Video monitoring system has experienced three phrases: analog video monitoring system, pseu-digital video monitoring system and digital video system. This paper analyzes the main characteristics and its applied fields at each phrase, introduces the structure, functions and development of RDVMS in detail. Especially, the disadvantages and advantages of analog and digital system are distinguished clearly.Secondly, this paper introduces the digital coding technology of digital video data, including coding method and main digital video coding standards. In detail, MPEG-4 and its contents is introduced as well. Further, some multimedia data transmission technologies are described and analyzed. Then, this paper proposed a practical solution, which integrates some video images collection terminals and network equipments, independently develops central controlling station and client station of RDVMS. Further, we depicts the logical structure, function requirements and key development process of the two subsystem.Finally, the implementation process of substation remote digital video monitoring system is described step by step, and some helpful engineering solution during implementation is been summarized concisely.This paper comprehensively introduces substation remote digital video monitoring system and its key technologies . And based on system integration and scale optimization rules, video data processing, computer network and software development technology hasbeen used to develop the substation remote digital video monitoring system to solve the practical problems in electrical power production. Generrally speaking, the paper has strong peculiar practical value and theoretical contribution.
