| In recent years, with the accelerating urbanization process in China andunder WTO-induced globalization pressure, a lot of municipal governmentshave proposed to build new administrative centers. Meanwhile, many urbanplanners also suggest in master plan that administrative centers should bemoved out to transform urban spatial structure and to promote economicdevelopment.  In response to the above phenomena, this thesis analyzes the impact ofadministrative center's move-out on urban spatial structure with Hefei city as acase study.  The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part is a study survey. Theauthor in this part adopts the method of comparative study to discuss theevolution of the relationship between administrative center and other spaceswithin urban spatial structures. The discussion based on an extensive coverageof documents and materials from ancient to post-modern Chinese and foreigncites. This part closes at an analysis which studies and predicts the impact ofrevolutionized information technology and highly network-based society on therelationship between administrative center and other spaces within urbanspatial structure.  The second part is a study on Hefei city. It investigates the possible impactof the move-out of its administrative center on the present urban spatialstructure. Then in accordance with the theory deduced in the first part, theauthor precisely discusses the impact of administrative center's move-out onurban spatial structure in three aspects: urban social ecology, land-use structure,transport structure. - III -Based on the above studies and the fact that Hefei city's move-out of itsadministrative center is being implemented, the thesis's final part rounds up apolicy proposal for Hefei city's planning issues. |
