As a significant element of mechatronics, servo technology is widely applied in various industrial products, such as NC machine tool, industrial robot, aircraft and spacecraft, electric vehicle, household apparatus, etc. Modern industrial manufacturing requires more excellent performance of servo equipments, therefore, it is quite important to study and develop AC servo system with high performance and high reliability.Based on the summarization of the vector control methods for PMSM, this paper presented a design scheme of the wholly digital PMSM servo system for industrial sewing machine. The core hardware of the servo control system is the digital signal processor TMS320LF2407A. The paper introduced the details of some hardware problems, including the feedback circuits for motor current signal, rotor position and rotating speed signal and needle position signal, the paper also presented the main circuit and its protection circuit, operating system module and so on. The id = 0 control was applied on the PMSM servo system through the TMS30LF2407A software. Some problems such as start-up of the motor, vector control, SPWM output, fault protection closedown, system communication, were discussed in this paper. The application of the digital signal processor improves the adaptability of AC servo system. In industrial sewing machine, TMS320LF2407A takes advantage of various peripherals to realize the complex data processing, control algorithm and other auxiliary functions. TMS30LF2407A makes the industrial sewing machine more compact and improves its automation.Experimental and simulation results demonstrate that id = 0 control method realize the decoupling control of PMSM, and provide the system excellent dynamic and static performance. By means of simulation, this paper analyzed the effects of current feedback filter on the performance of servo system.In order to analyze the performance of flux weakening control, the power output equation under that control method is derived, and its theoretical curves are presented. Based on those curves, the paper analyzes the effects of motor structural and electrical parameters on the power output performance.
