Simulation analysis and inverse analysis on temperature field of mass concrete is of great importance. Concentrated on simulative analysis of temperature field and the inverse analysis of thermal parameters of mass concrete in hydraulic structure, and its application to practical project, the main work in this paper are discussed as follows:Firstly, the application of commercial FEM software ANSYS in the simulation of temperature field of mass concrete dam is studied, utilizable program by APDL is developed.Secondly, the basic theory and method of inverse analysis is introduced. Genetic algorism, as a new method of inverse analysis is discussed and modified, which in result is much more efficient. Object-oriented program architecture is designed and fulfilled in C++.Thirdly, based on an RCC gravity dam which is in construction now, temperature field analysis is executed, and the result is discussed and some advice is suggested. By adding some noise data to represent the measured temperature, inverse analysis of thermal parameters is computed.Currently, China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research and some domestic universities all have developed some programs in thermal analysis of mass concrete independently; however, it's a waste of resource. Based on ANSYS software, this paper paved the way to a well interfaced system in temperature control of mass concrete, which could switch the researcher's attention to analysis of the result data.
