This paper derives from the research and development of production plan management system, a sub informationization project of DHI Gear Reducer. In this paper Lean Production, Concurrent Engineering and other advanced production models are analyzed, and the production characteristic of DHI Gear Reducer Plant are integrated, to summarize a Short Cycle production model. Under the direction of Short Cycle production model the production plan management system is developed and implemented.In the Short Cycle production model, Lean Production methods are adopted microcosmically to abridge the effective time of each producing circle, while Concurrent Engineering methods are employed macrocosmically to achieve the optimization of the whole producing process. Thus the production tasks are fulfilled in the shortest time period, without reducing the benefits of the corporation. The fundamental theories of production plan are studied in this paper, and relative operation flows and calculating model are abstracted as well.The current situation of production plan management and the existing problems are analyzed in this paper. At the mean while, on the guidance of the fundamental theories, production plan management and the control system are modeled. The system main flow model, data integration model, dynamic response model, parallel stock model, closed loop feedback model and decision supporting model are constructed. These models guarantee the form of a multilayer plans control system contained the coarse producing plan, assembling plan, plan of putting into production, material requirements plan, processing plan and procedure-preparing plan on the bases of pulling production mode.The system hierarchy model is analyzed by the Object-Oriented method. In order to enhance stability and expansibility, the system is divided to display layer, data layer, operation layer and storage layer. And it uses the interface to exchange data between these layers. The system data model is build based on Microsoft SQL Server 2000 database system. The applied software is programmed by Object-Oriented program language and ADO/OLE DB data accessing interface. At last, the system is implemented in DHI Gear Reducer Plant, and the practice of software in the enterprise shows that the approaches of the paper are effective and practicable.
