| Building control system is the basis of intelligent buildings, and it ensures intelligent buildings safely and effectively run. With the rapid development of intelligent buildings in China, the building control technologies have always be applied and deeply studied. In a system the designs of control systems often comply different standards and rules, which bring great difficulty to the interconnection and integration of multi-control systems. And building control system is more puzzled by this problem, because it covers widely and relates to many subsystems. BACnet is a data communication protocol for building automation control networks, which provides normal and effective methods to building control network. For building automation control networks, the stability of system is the primary element and the necessary element during the design of building control system. Alarm, an effective control measure, is crucial in building control system and assures that a building control system runs as expected. Alarm information reflects the condition when the equipments in control system do not work normally, so alarm is able to inform operators to adopt effective measures, avoid the system being further deteriorated and recover the system.At first this paper gives an introduction to the development of intelligent buildings and the bring of BACnet , and inducts the project of design of alarm management software for BACnet workstation. Then it analyses the theory and operation logic of BACnet workstation, witch includes the alarm function and introduces the develop technologies and tools in brief. then it describes the design of alarm fuction, including the design of database, subsystem and interface between alarm and other functions.then it gives several views and some codes. At last, conclusions of the system are given, which include the author's point and suggestion in the direction and contents about the research in the future.
