Fans, especially large-scale centrifugal or axial blowers and compressors, are playing extremely important roles in national economy and their performance curves are the foundation of normal operation, choice and application. However, the accurate performance curve of fans must be acquired through the performance testing at present.This paper aims at centrifugal or axial blowers and compressors. According to the theory and the way of performance testing of centrifugal or axial blowers and compressors and combining the need of real project, the system of performance test is well developed. The whole methods, including how to choose testing equipments, measurement instruments and measurement parameter, how to process calculation and conversion of the result, how to draw the performance curve and how to verify the Condition of performance, are established.A measurement system for determining the performance curves of compressors in situ is well developed. It can measure the performance curves and predict the surge lines with shaft vibration signals and axial displacement of the shaft. In the application it is found that the shaft vibration signals respond to the presence of surge earlier than the acoustic signals do. Therefore the vibration signals are more appropriate for predicting surge lines than the acoustic signals.In summation, it is proved that the performance test system based on the current performance testing way of centrifugal or axial blowers and compressors is provided with favorable adaptability and practicability by practical application. The system can achieve the performance test of various types of blowers and compressors and can be applied further to real project.
