Turbine-compressor is one of the important equipments in many fileds(mining industry, oil industry, chemical industry etc..) in national economy. It's performances effect the economy and security of the factory directly. So it's very significant to instruct the operation of the air compressor economically and safely by well knowing the operating performance ,researching the anti-surge control system, finding out the real operating point , evaluating the running performance and providing the fualt diagnosis system.In this paper the construction and operation of AR air compressor are deeply studied, and the thermo-dynamical performance calculation and anti-surge control system are also analyzed and discussed in detail based on the axial-radial compressor actual running problems .As a consequent , the thermo-dynamical performance on-line monitoring & evaluating system (ACPE_WK1.0) is developed for Dahua Group ammonia plant .It shows that this programme is practical and valuable after one year application . Some preliminary research about compressor Faut Diagnosis system with the Neural Networks(NN) and Expert Systems is presented based on the studis above.The axial-radial compressor thermo-dynamical performance on-line monitoring & evaluating system(ACPE_WK1.0) is programmed with VC++, and the datum pro-processing and software test are completed with Matlab. This system has been using in Dahua Group ammonia plant. The AR Compressor Fult diagnosis system which is programmed with Access, SQL, and Matlab NN box is developing now.
