The content of this paper came from the renovation project of the Automatic Control System Of Xlpe cable Manufacture in anhui xinyi cable Co Ltd. The former system became the bottleneck of the high-speed development of enterprise due to aging equipment, hard maintenance and wanting accessory.Aimed at higher efficiency, stable and reliable operation and convenient control. The key of the former system was designed according to the fact of china in the project. The draught-tension control system adopted a primary-secondary VVVF control system instead of speed governing system of direct current; The on-line measurement & control technique of pendency of cable was discussed, and the equipment for this technique was developed, the equipment also can adjust itself to kinds of cables and the situation where parameter of capacitance changes; the method is new, and it can be applied several other facets. In the project we adopted a PLC-DCS combined hybrid control method with the merits of flexible configuration, accurate measurement, coordinated control, reliable performance and convenient maintenance, achieving a higher automation level of Xlpe cable Manufacture.The content of the paper includes the present state of technique of Xlpe cable Manufacture, includes the research on the draught-tension control system, focusing on scheme; includes the design of the on-line measurement & control technique of pendency of cable, focusing on the design of transmiting controller and receiving controller; includes supervisory system of automatic control system, describing the high-level & low-level hard design, programming environment and corresponding basic software design.
