Ultrasonic cleaning is one of the most extensive applications of power ultrasonic, and it has many advantages, such as fast cleaning rate, good cleaning quality, low cost and being apt to realize automatization, etc. The mechanism of ultrasonic cleaning is ultrasonic cavitation, shock wave, microstreaming and the vibration of cleaning liquid itself, and cavitation is regarded as the most prime mechanism of ultrasonic cleaning. The magnitude of cavitations is depended on ultrasonic parameters (such as sound intensity, frequency, and so on) and the physical and chemical characters(such as the ability of cleaning reagent, surface tension, steam pressure, mucous degree, etc) of cleaning liquid. We must select suitable cleaning liquid and ultrasonic parameters. With the exception of these, the distribution of ultrasonic field and the cleaning grids are also important factors to cleaning. The distribution of ultrasonic field in cleaning tank is relatively complex, it is directly affected by the arrangement mode of transducers and the reflection of boundary. In the interests of avoiding the objects directly pressing on the vibrating plate so as to restraining the ultrasonic wave from radiating, preventing the edgily objects that directly placed on the vibrating plate from dignifying the vibrating plate so as to shortening the used life of cleaning tank for cavitation, retaking conveniently the objects for cleaning and avoiding the workers stretching out their hands in the cleaning liquid each time, the objects for cleaning are not directly placed on vibrating plate but commonly hung on the pothook or placed on cleaning grids. It is suitable for single and big object to be hung on the pothook and for small and batches of objects to be put on cleaning grids. Grids result in loss of ultrasonic energy, and different grids affect ultrasonic field differently. On the basic of analyzing the character of radiating ultrasonic field of single and combinatorial round plunger, the distribution of pressure in the cleaning tank is studied theoretically and experimentally, and the effect on the ultrasonic field by different grids is also studied, it is useful to the ultrasonic cleaning used cleaning grids.In detail, following work has been done in this paper and several results are concluded:...
