With the development of modern industry, economy and the improvement of the standard of living, problems regarding power quality issues in general become more and more important. In order to improve power quality, the systemic compensation is necessary. This paper studies control of the energy system based on super capacitors. Super capacitor, a novel energy storage component, is used here. It integrates the advantages, such as high power density characterized by conventional capacitors, high energy density characterized by rechargeable batteries, the fast charge/discharge performance and the long life. Thus, it is expected to be an energy storage component with high efficiency and practicability. The operating principle and main circuit are analyzed. The paper presents the hardware implementation including structure and parameters of the main circuit. Its control center is microprocessor TMS320F2407. The software is completed in assemble language. With the growing up of the technology and low cost, the energy system based on super capacitors will be used widely.
