Since reform and opening to the outside world, our country's Economy has developed substantially. At the same time, people start to be concentrated toward city on a large scale. In the last twenty years, be under the common effort of the development of economy and the growth of population, the urban development and real estate industries have increased so fast that surpassed the expectation of previous city planning and resulted in a series of problem such as the lack of land for urban development and the crowded transportation. In our country, in some conservancy district of history and culture that local in famous historic cities'old city area, the antinomy among the urban construction, the population resided in old city area, the land for construction and the preservation of history and culture is more outstanding. For solving these antinomies and preserving cities'history and culture, the plan of preservation of historic district has been established in each famous historic city. Peking has began to draft the plan of preservation of its'historic district from 2000 and published the plan which name is The Plan of Preservation Of 25 Slices Conservancy District Of History And Culture In Peking's Old City Area and implemented the plan in partial region as experiment. Due to a series of problem which existed in conservancy district of history and culture in Peking's old city area is very complex and the exploitation for commercial purpose intervened in the process of construction, effective direct was lacking during the plan has been implementing, the plan itself also has shortage, some new problem has emerged during the process of implementing plan or behind the construction of plan. these problem have also made the construction which original purpose is protecting conservancy district with destructive result How to avoid the similar problem arise when other plan of preservation be in processing of implementing and preserve Peking's conservancy district of history and culture better is the problem that we must resolve. At the same time, the development and utilization of the underground space in city is becoming the new focus of city construction worldwide. In our country, the theories and practice of the development and utilization of the underground space in city have also entered the fast developing period. In this Thesis, by studying the actual state of development and utilization of underground space in conservancy district of history and culture of historic cities worldwide and under the guidance of guiding ideology of the plan of preservation of historic districts in Peking we can study that how to develop and utilize the underground space in conservancy district of history and culture to resolve the antinomy between preservation and construction existed in plan of preservation and make the preservation of conservancy district of history and culture in Peking more practical. At first, thesis has studied the situation of preserving famous historic city and development and utilization of the underground space in international famous cities that have abundant historic culture. And then the thesis has studied the distribution and the quantity of latent resources of underground space in each conservancy district of history and culture in Peking. Finally, according to the existing experience of research and practice about development and utilization of underground space in conservancy district of history and culture that has been sum up by foreign countries and the actual state of conservancy district of history and culture in Peking's old city area and their plan of preservation, the thesis has concluded the model about how to exploit the underground space in different type conservancy...
