To enlarge the scope and increase the transmission quantity of electric energy in the power system, the transformer is widely used. However, 3 or 5 times of voltage transformer are generally required on the power system composed of generation, transmission, distribution and customer. Then, the total capacity of transformer is more than the generation', at the same time, much loss is produced. Therefore, how the operation mode of transformer are selected and controlled, i.e., the economic operation of transformer implemented in the power system is very important, which not only saves the electric energy, but also has its special significance on the development of national economy.Based on the analysis of technique characteristic, power loss of the transformer, the differences among the parameters, the nonlinear relation between the loss of active and reactive power and the load are analyzed in the operation of thetransformer, the technology peculiarity of distribution transformer are compared and the economic operations of transformer are researched. To save electric energy, the optimal mode, witch meet the condition of security and constant transfer capability of transformer, is decided through optimize the technology peculiarity of transformer, allocate the load, ameliorate the operation conditions.Distribution transformer is used in the power system end, its quantity and capacity are much more. Due to the fluctuation of its load, the loss of the distribution transformer is larger. For the transformer running longer, the distinction is big between the actual parameter and the band parameter. But the accurate parameter is the base of analyzing the economic operation of transformer, so the method of verifying the transformer's parameter is put forward; The economic operation range, load adjustment and the loads distribution are introduced; aim for the characteristic that power is shortage at the peak and the power is plenteous at the valley, a basic method of load adjusting by reducing peaks and filling up valleys is proposed.Using the Visual Basic 6.0 as developing tool, the software of distribution transformer economic operation is compiled. It is useful and convenient, it includes the economic operation range calculated by the active and reactive powerloss; economic operation modes; the load distribution and the saving electric effect; the verifying of the parameter; the load adjusting by reducing peaks and filling up valleys. The sample manifest that the software invent a new way for researching the economic operation of transformer.
