The Protection And Utilization Of Historical Culture Villages

Traditional dwellings are symbol of a culture's lifestyle and a social ideological construct that represents different social structures throughout time. They have a long history, strong customs, unique spatial environment and wonderful charm. However, with the changes of the times and economic development, traditional dwelling groups are facing a severe challenge due to not being able to meet the need of society. So protection and utilization of this kind of architecture is not only a theoretical question, but also a parasitical problem. Without dynamicprotection and rational utilization, we can't give traditional dwelling groups a stable life environment. That's why we need to emphasize that the protection of traditional dwellings must be dynamic and on going, and that their use must be rational. The integration of these aspects is the purpose of this article.Through analyzed theories from the domestic and international documents, especially summarized several important views about my subject. I understand deeply about the development in the field of historical village's protection and utilization.Based on the national conditions, this article exposes the contradiction between ancient villages, and puts forward the countermeasures— 'combing' and 'gradual change'.The conclusion of this article is that the above mentioned method can be successfully used to better preserve, maintain and utilize traditional dwellings. Hopefully, it can also be implemented within future projects.
