Investigation Of The Present Condition Of Traditional Dwelling Of Yanfang Ancient Village And Research On The Protection Of Ancient Architectures

Vernacular housing is closely related to the people's life. With the fast economical development of our country, vernacular housing is also constantly developing and at the same time facing challenges in the process of development. While our cities are becoming larger and larger; vernacular housing is gradually replaced by the high buildings. People are in neighbor with the concrete forest all day long. At the same time the traditional ancient dwell houses are vanishing. Numbers of traditional dwelling houses in Jiangxi are in bad condition and even collapsing due to lack of management. So what we should solve immediately is how to protect the wealth that is left by our ancestor.The ancient village of Yanfang is located in Jintan Town of Jishui County in Jiangxi .It is one of China's Famous Villages of Historic and Cultural Interest which is famous for 103 well-preserved ancient architectures of ming and qing dynasty. There are traditional domestic architectures such as clan temples, schools, memorial archways, folk houses, ancient wells, ancient ponds and ancient tombs.This essay takes the traditional dwelling houses in the ancient village of Yanfang, which is typical in the middle area of Jiangxi, as an example, makes an evaluation of the architectural quality of the traditional dwelling houses there; has an investigation and an analysis of the problems there; studies on the principles and skills of repairing and strengthening of ancient architectures on the basis of spot investigation especially the integrated status of the ancient village of Yanfang. This essay also provides theoretical foundation and reasonable solution to the repairing and strengthening of the ancient architectures in Yanfang. This makes this essay stand out of other researches on traditional dwellings and also brings certain difficulties to my research.This essay also takes the landscape of the ancient village settlement into consideration, putting forward reasonable suggestions on the protection and development of the landscape of the ancient village settlement.The research on the traditional dwelling housing in the ancient village of Yanfang will have certain guiding significance to the research of the traditional dwelling housing of middle areas of Jiangxi.
