With the development of the economy and information globalization, people in the world are facing a lot of problems: the environment problems, the investments, the exploration and using of the resources, the programming and management of the cities, the forecasting and controlling of the disaster, the designing, building and managing of the projects, the detecting and fathering of the environment, digitalization of the war field and automatization of the war directing and so on. GIS can supply better solve project of those problems. It has bright prospect in application. And valley spatial information is the basis of GIS. Valley spatial information system is very complex, including capturing, storing, managing, transmitting, analyzing and using of great capacity of spatial information data. The focuses are the capturing of the spatial information, the modeling of the spatial data, spatial mutual operating, spatial analyzing and application. This report bases on characteristic of the spatial data information of the Yangtze River valley, introduces the modeling of the valley spatial vector data, data modeling of the oriented object data, the metadata of the spatial data, analyzes amply the isomerous database, designs models of the spatial database which comprise of the attribute data and the spatial data, and introduces how to utilize MapObjects technology to develop this system. The system realizes an efficient and concentrated management of water pollution information, and can forecast and evaluate the Yangtze valley's water pollution by making integrative use of computer information technology. The system can provide information for setting down the strategies of water pollution's prevention and control.
