Natural disasters are usually what we can't impede. Its disastrous power leaves numerous people homeless. Being beyond human's control, people canonly make up the losses after the disaster happens. The first step of salvation work is to rescue the victims with allocation as part of it. Rooting from industrial design, the essays aims at studying the plan and layout of rescue shelters for allocation after disasters happen.In order to allocate those victims whose houses were destroyed in the disasters, government or specialized organization will build up and manage rescue shelters for them. This kind of rescue shelters is what the essay studies as temporary after-calamity rescue shelter. Four kinds of rescue shelters such as tent, wind shed, simple house, movable house are widely used in many countries with advantages and disadvantages. By studying these rescue shelters, we can find some breakthroughs to improve the payout and design.The restrictive factor is subject to the relationship among 3 inseparable aspects as people, facilities and environment. As a special living facility, rescue shelter is designed for victims who rely on it for living in temporarily. Therefore, its function and restructure must meet people's requirement under the special time and environment, thus decided by environment, user and time.A successful layout provides the accurate guideline for the design. The restructure of the shelter must meet the living requirement under harsh environment;the inner design and function of the shelter shall providerelief to victims physically and psychologically;the accessory facilities shall apply to different living periods with causing no waste for short living period and providing sufficient supply for long living period.In accordance with the guidelines above, the essay will further expatiate the plan and detailed design of the rescue shelters.
