Urban environment physique that the city history leave behind is a kind of special cultural carrier, noting the track of the city history. Urban historic buildings and environment is the precious resource that can't be reproduced. It is not only the memory of a country, but also the enchantment of certain place. However, during the extensive urbanization tide, it is the missing of cities' memory and the wasting of a large number of materials, energy as its consequence;and the protection and renewal of historic site is widely focused today. There are the ignorance on tradition and environment during architectural design in the historic site. Building renewal of our country is encountering predicament.With city's development, many urban historic site are facing the problems of decay and aging;Therefore the renewal and regeneration of the historic site are becoming the focus of the study of city's development in a worldwide. How to make harmonious concomitance between the new building and old ones is a significative question for research in architectural design.This thesis discussed the principles and the methods of designing new building in the historic site and how to reflect profound history and culture intension in each detail of the buildings using a great deal examples to makeup the shortage of theory in addition. On this basis, summarized the experience and offered some certain reference in advance.There also have many issues to be further discussed though have some fruit by far. The paper just purpose to expound the theory of harmonious concomitance between the new building and the old ones in urban historic site based on the study in being in this field, put forward some suggestions and provides a reference for design practice in our country.
