Research On Urban Parking Planning

As the rapid developing of Chinese urban proceeding and mobiling, The contradiction of supplying and demand of parking facilities has risen, and has been one of the nuclear problems of transportation. For the reason of being unclear of the problem, the unreasonable planning and the lack of science management have caused the parking problem.Basing on the research of present theories of urban parking planning, the paper summarizes the concept of type, investigation and evaluation of parking facilites;analyzes the influent elements of urban parking facilites such as urban proceeding, urban land planning, urban mobiling and transportation management policies;researches the methods of predicating parking demand and the planning of parking facilities in detail;finally, gives a series of conclusion, including 4-step predicating method and it's application, the method of deviding the parking resources basing on the type of parking facilities and it's working process;analyzes the influence of transportation management policies on parking facilities;points out the management policies of diffient stage;gives the distributing suggestion for diffient sites of city;all the researches aims at supplying a consultation for urban parking planning. Basing on the researches above, the paper analyzes the Xi' an city's parking planning, points out the disadvantages of traditional planning method and the advantages of 4-step predicating method both with the vast scale it can been used in future.
