Railway is the aorta of national economy, the task is onerous for railway to transport the countrywide goods and passengers. With the national economy flourishing and people living ceaselessly improving, it is aggravating that the railway transport the countrywide goods and passengers. Train running faster and faster, carrying capacity heavier and heavier. The demand is becoming higher and higher to adapt development of the high speed and burden. Fine performance locomotive brake is the important equipment to ensure the train safely running.With produce equipment and the machining technique improving, nonce, the dependability of the domestic locomotive brake has been increased. But, there is some difference with the overseas advanced locomotive brake as the condition limited. It is some problem if the overseas advanced locomotive brake is fetched in directly. Not any the price is costly, but also it cannot was organized into groups with existing locomotive and vehicle. For the sake of improving locomotive brake performance and dependability, it is the strategic goal to research on a new-type machine electro-pneumatic locomotive brake by ourselves.Firstly, the paper introduces the development status of the overseas locomotive brake, some advantages and disadvantages of overseas several advanced locomotive brakes are discussed. Then, the paper introduces the development status of the domestic locomotive brake, analysis advantages and disadvantages of china locomotive brakes: type DK-1 and JZ-7. The difference is indicated china present-day locomotive brakes and overseas advanced locomotive brakes. It is proposed that existing locomotive brake cannot meet the requirement our track technology development.According as our exciting track running conditions, the scheme is brought forward that is a new-type machine electro-pneumatic locomotive brake. The paper herewith introduces the design rule, operation principle of collectivity project and the function and control mode of every module.Key parts are introduced concretely in the paper. The technology parameter of the valve is brought forward. Then, every valve is designed and made. The paper herewith introduces every valve makeup principle and every state of everyprocess position. It is calculate and proofread that is key makeup.Lastly, every module is assembled and joined. It is completed that is test of single vehicle and immovable train. At the same time, the test is completed that is DK-1 and JZ-7 locomotive brake. The test result is analyzed arid compared. The brake is proved to meet the anticipated goal.
