According to the reservoir capacity, the height of barrage and installed capacity of power station, determined Wan-keng reservoir engineering grade and constructional grade. Then, recommend the masonry arch dam. compared the up and down dam axis, chose the up dam axis as the recommended dam axis .By means of arch and girder load sharing to compute the dam body stress. Use the unit height of level arch to compute each altitude's abutment stability. Put forward some design requests for dam foundation's excavation and foundational dispose. Plan the dam's observation system and setup dam body deforming observation item.To release the flood, took the surface orifice drainage into account .Compared three orifices schemes, five orifices 8 × 6m scheme was recommended. In the phase of shop drawing, the original designed project faced some serious problems in the hydro-structure model examination. Such as the stream current didn't contract to the gutter and the backward position's riverbed was washed out badly. The revamp optimum trial mostly aimed at these two aspects. One was nearside stream current returned to the gutter, the other was the ridge bodily form revamp optimize. The trial for the stream current returned to the gutter, glued a triangular wedge in nearside abutment wall original continuous ridge. Took 1.75m as the width after compared 1.05m, 1.40m and 1.75m.
